The Pacific Railroad Preservation Association Incorporated (PRPA) is a non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1955, PRPA is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of railroading in the Pacific Northwest. The organization's primary mission is to restore and operate vintage steam locomotives and passenger cars, providing public excursions and educational opportunities for all ages.

PRPA's fleet includes several historic locomotives, including the Southern Pacific 4449, which is one of only two remaining examples of the GS-4 class of steam locomotives built for the Southern Pacific Railroad. The organization also owns a collection of passenger cars, including the 1941-built Portland Rose, which was once used on the famous Union Pacific Streamliner train of the same name.

In addition to its preservation efforts, PRPA is also actively involved in the community, hosting events and educational programs throughout the year. The organization also partners with schools and other non-profit organizations to provide educational opportunities for students and promote an interest in railroading and transportation history.

PRPA is run entirely by volunteers, who donate their time and expertise to maintain and operate the organization's fleet of historic trains. The organization relies on donations and support from the community to continue its preservation and educational efforts.
