The Mountain Empire Historical Society is a non-profit organization based in Campo, California. Its mission is to preserve, document, and promote the history of the Mountain Empire region, which covers southeastern San Diego County and southwestern Imperial County. The society was founded in 1984 and is run by a board of directors who are all volunteers.

The society operates a museum in a historic building that was once a general store and post office. The museum houses a collection of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the history of the region, including its native peoples, early settlers, mining and ranching industries, and the impact of the railroad.
