The Lincoln County Historical Society (LCHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Lincoln County, Oregon. Founded in 1951, it is the oldest and largest historical society in the county. The LCHS is located in the historic district of Newport, Oregon and shares a building with the Burrows House Museum.

The Society’s mission is to preserve, promote and provide education about the history of Lincoln County. The LCHS operates a research library which houses thousands of documents, photographs, and artifacts related to the county’s history. It also offers educational programming and tours of the Burrows House Museum, which showcases the history of the county from the 1880s to the present.

The LCHS also sponsors a number of events throughout the year, including lectures, workshops, and educational programs. The Society’s annual “Lincoln County Day” is held in the summer and features a reenactment of the county’s founding.

The LCHS is supported by memberships, donations, and grants. It is governed by an Executive Board and a Board of Directors made up of local volunteers. It is funded by the Oregon Historical Society and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The LCHS also partners with local schools and organizations to promote the history of Lincoln County.

It was replaced by Yaquina Head Lighthouse a few miles to the north, which was much easier for ships to see. Today it is part of Yaquina Bay State Park and has been restored to it's 1870's appearance.
