OREGON NATURAL HISTORY COALITION

The Oregon Natural History Coalition (ONHC) is a non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2002, the organization was formed to support and promote the preservation and conservation of Oregon’s natural history.

The ONHC works to protect the state’s natural heritage by providing access to scientific information and promoting public education about Oregon’s natural history. The Coalition also works to facilitate collaboration between public and private institutions, legislators, and citizens.

The ONHC’s core work is conducted by a dedicated staff of professionals and volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors, and on various committees, such as the Science Committee, the Education and Outreach Committee, and the Conservation Committee.

The ONHC is committed to creating a healthy, sustainable environment for Oregon’s natural history. Through its programs and initiatives, the ONHC works to protect, preserve, and restore the state’s unique and diverse ecosystems, habitats, and species. Its conservation efforts include protecting endangered species, managing habitat destruction and degradation, and advocating for the implementation of sustainable land and water management practices.

The ONHC also works to educate the public about Oregon’s natural history through its outreach and education programs. In addition, the Coalition coordinates community events such as nature hikes, natural history lectures, and bird watching trips.

The Oregon Natural History Coalition is a valuable resource for Oregonians who are passionate about preserving and protecting the state’s natural heritage.
