The Southwestern Oklahoma Historical Society (SOWS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of southwestern Oklahoma. Founded in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1965, the Society is devoted to the collection and preservation of historical documents, photographs, artifacts, and other materials related to the area.

The Society works to promote an understanding of the history of southwestern Oklahoma and to provide educational opportunities for the public. Through its museum, archives, library, and other educational programs, the Society provides a variety of services including research assistance, educational programs, and special events. The Society’s museum houses a collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents related to the history of southwestern Oklahoma. The Society also maintains a library with a variety of documents, books, and other archival material related to the history of the area. The Society’s archives contain documents and other materials related to the history of southwestern Oklahoma, including oral histories and interviews.

The Society also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, such as lectures, seminars, and tours. The Society also partners with local organizations and universities to provide educational programs and research opportunities.
