Old El Reno Carnegie Library (El Reno, Oklahoma) Historic El Reno Carnegie Library in Canadian County, Oklahoma. The library was constructed 1904-05 with a $12,500 grant from the Carnegie Foundation.  It was the 4th Carnegie Library built in the then Oklahoma Territory.  The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 (NRHP No. 80003257).

The Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants is a non-profit, educational and charitable organization whose mission is to preserve the legacy of the Mayflower Pilgrims and the memory of their voyage to the New World. The Society was founded in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1975 and has since grown to include more than 170 members. Their membership includes descendants of all of the Mayflower passengers, as well as any descendant of a person who arrived in the New World prior to 1650.

The Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants gathers annually to celebrate the legacy of the Mayflower Pilgrims and to provide educational opportunities for its members. The Society also works to promote an understanding of the Pilgrim’s struggles and their journey to the New World. The Society’s goals are to promote the spirit of patriotism, loyalty to the United States, and respect for the American Flag and the Constitution.

The Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants is a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and works in cooperation with other state societies throughout the United States. The Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants is dedicated to the preservation of the Mayflower story and the perpetuation of its legacy. They offer several programs and events throughout the year to promote their mission, including lectures, research, scholarship, and community service.
