Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Plaza Inc. in Lawton, Oklahoma is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers. Established in 1999, the organization seeks to honor these brave men and women, whose contributions to our nation’s history are historically significant.

Through a variety of programs, the organization strives to educate the public about the history of the Buffalo Soldiers and their unique place in American history. Programs include seminars, lectures, and exhibits highlighting the soldiers’ accomplishments and stories. The organization also works to preserve the Buffalo Soldier’s memory through the placement of memorials, monuments, and other commemorative markers in public places throughout the region.

In addition to preserving the memories of the Buffalo Soldiers, the organization also works to promote community involvement and volunteerism. Through Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Plaza Inc.’s volunteer program, individuals can volunteer their time and talents to assist with the organization’s projects and programs. Volunteers can also participate in the organization’s annual Buffalo Soldiers Day celebration, which is held each year in honor of the soldiers’ service.

Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Plaza Inc. also works to promote economic development and job creation in the region. Through its small business loans and grants, the organization helps to create job opportunities for local residents and to help improve the economic well-being of the community.
