Path to Totality in Cleveland Despite our usual gray skies here in Cleveland, OH, we were graced with somewhat clear viewing during the total solar eclipse on May 8th, 2024. This composite is created from images taken through my 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope and a Canon EF 200mm L II lens x2 Extended using my Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Sadly, I missed capturing the details of solar prominence in 64Mp detail during totality, but three and a half minutes doesn't give you very much time to get all the images you want. I'm just grateful to have experienced this in my lifetime.

Leaf pile roundabout The City of Cleveland Heights was supposed to make leaf pick-up twice in November, and maybe a third time in December. It made one in late November, and the city cleared all areas except mine. After local people left more than 1,000 voicemail messages on the Public Works director's phone, the city finally picked up our leaves. This is only a portion of them, from about five or six homes. The trucks carted 10 times as much. This last pile was left in the street until they returned. (There is no roundabout underneath there! LOL)
