Highlands Historic District Inc (HHDI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic character of Middletown, Ohio. The organization was founded in 2009 by a group of dedicated volunteer citizens with a mission to advocate for the preservation and restoration of the Highlands, a neighborhood of Middletown with a rich architectural heritage.

HHDI works to bring the history of the Highlands to life through a variety of programs and activities. It has worked to increase awareness of the area, advocate for preservation and restoration, and create an environment of collaboration and communication between the neighborhood, the city, and the community at large.

HHDI’s efforts in the area have included the establishment of local historic districts, the purchase and renovation of historic homes, the production of educational materials, and the creation of a Highlands Walking Tour. They have also been involved in numerous community initiatives, including the development of a farmers market and a community garden.

The organization also works to preserve and promote the history of the Highlands through an array of events and activities. These have included lectures and workshops, a holiday home tour, a music festival, and a historical photo exhibit.

HHDI’s mission is to protect and promote the history, culture, and architecture of the Highlands, and to ensure that its rich heritage is preserved and shared with future generations.
