The Irish American Archives Society Inc. (IAAS) is a non-profit organization located in Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 1984, the IAAS seeks to preserve, promote and celebrate Irish-American history and culture in Northeast Ohio. The IAAS serves as a repository for historical artifacts, documents, photographs and other materials of Irish-American interest. It also sponsors a variety of programs and events to celebrate Irish-American culture, including lectures, readings and art exhibitions.

The IAAS is governed by a board of directors, which is composed of members of the Irish-American community in the greater Cleveland area. The organization is staffed by volunteers and depends on donations to support its activities. IAAS is affiliated with the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, a group of more than 30 public parks that celebrate the city’s ethnic, racial and religious diversity.

The IAAS’s primary mission is to preserve the history of Irish-Americans in Northeast Ohio. The IAAS’s archives include hundreds of books, photographs, maps, films and artifacts related to Irish-American life. The archives are open to researchers, students and members of the public for research purposes. The IAAS also produces educational materials, including brochures, posters and books, to share the story of Irish-Americans in the region.

In addition to its archival activities, the IAAS sponsors a variety of events that celebrate Irish-American culture. These include lectures and readings by Irish-American authors, art exhibitions featuring the work of Irish-American artists, and cultural festivals that feature traditional Irish music and dance. The IAAS also works with other organizations to promote Irish-American heritage in the Cleveland area.
