The Harrison County Genealogical Society Inc is a non-profit organization based in Cadiz, Ohio. The Windmill, Stone Boulevard, East Wheeling, Wheeling, WV Built in the 1930s, this unique Tudor Revival-style building was constructed as a gas station and restaurant along the old National Road, also known as US Route 40, drawing visitors in with its prominent windmill on the front facade. The building features a stucco-clad exterior with a large three-story windmill with tapered walls, a stone base, blades, and a gold-colored dome at the center of the east facade, clipped gables, or jerkin heads, multiple former garage bays, tapered chimneys, and a variety of window shapes and sizes. The building presently serves as a restaurant, known as The Windmill.
