The Cincinnati Observatory is a historic astronomical observatory located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was founded in 1842 as the first public observatory in the United States and is now a National Historic Landmark. The observatory houses two telescopes; the oldest, a 12-inch Merz und Mahler refractor, was built in 1845 and is still in use today. The other, a 16-inch reflector, was installed in 1904 and is also still used for scientific observation.

In addition to astronomical research, the Cincinnati Observatory offers public tours, programs, and events. Visitors can explore the history of astronomy, see the telescopes up close, and learn about the work being done by astronomers today.
