The Reading Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Reading, Ohio. Founded in 1965, it is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the history of the Reading Community and surrounding areas. The Society works to promote an understanding of the past and its impact on present and future generations.

The Society operates the Reading Railroad Museum, which houses a variety of artifacts and displays related to the history of the Reading Railroad. This includes a large collection of artifacts from the Reading Railroad, such as tools and machinery, photographs, books, and documents. In addition, the museum features interactive exhibits and programs for children and adults to learn more about the history of the Reading Railroad.

The Society also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including an annual Railroad Days celebration, the Reading Historical Society’s annual picnic, and other special events. In addition, the Society works to preserve historic buildings in the Reading area and sponsors educational programs and activities.

The Reading Historical Society is an invaluable resource for the citizens of Reading and the surrounding areas. Through its preservation of the history of the Reading area and its outreach efforts, the Society helps ensure that the past is not forgotten.

The building is a contributing structure in the Rossville Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The building presently serves as the Hamilton City School District Central Registration Office.
