7/14/81, Conrail B23-7 2022 Negotiating the Center St. crossing in Youngstown on the former PRR main. Republic Steel is in the background. This unit was scrapped before the breakup of Conrail in 1999.
6/27/81, P&LE U28B 2808 Caught off guard with this train and shutter speed a bit slow! Heading toward Youngstown at Hillsville, PA.
6/25/81, Conrail B23-7 1922 Conrail B23-7 1922 leads a westbound at Edinburg, PA on the P&LE main. In just over a half mile it will cross the OH-PA line into Lowellville, OH.
8-19-05, boardwalk at Mill Creek Park A boardwalk near the Old Mill at Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, OH.
6-20-23, Midland & Bluegrass GP9 222 Operated as Youngstown & Southeastern Railroad. GP9 222 was built 1/58 as Illinois Central GP9 9368. To Illinois Central Gulf 9005, Mid-South Railroad 9005 then to Indiana Boxcar 222. This Midland & Bluegrass train is hauling construction waste and a couple of covered hoppers south to the landfill in Signal, OH. The train is about to cross the NS(PRR) tracks in Struthers, OH. The GP38-2 5152 is former NS and was owned by Indiana Boxcar Corp., the former owner of Youngstown & Southeastern Railroad.
6-20-23, The City Trust and Savings Bank, Campbell, OH The company filed an application with the State of Ohio as a Corporation For-Profit on September 6, 1904. I couldn't find any more info on the business and I'm not sure if it survived the Depression.
6-17-23, B&O station, Youngstown, OH Built in 1905 it served Baltimore and Ohio passenger trains until Amtrak took over in 1971. When Amtrak extended the "Three Rivers", train 40/41, to Chicago it stopped in Youngstown at the B&O station starting May 16, 1997.
6-17-23, old Erie/EL station, Youngstown, OH Opened in 1922 it closed on January 14, 1977 with the end of Conrail commuter service to Cleveland.

6-16-23, P&LE 50' boxcar 6920 Built 3/1966. In the background is a part of the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Brier hill works that is still being used. This is the former Erie/Erie Lackawanna yard and they got a lot of business from that mill.
