The Nauvoo Historical Society (NHS) is a non-profit organization located in Jasper, Alabama. Founded in 2011, the NHS was created to preserve, protect, and promote the history of Nauvoo, Alabama and its surrounding area. The society is dedicated to preserving the area’s history through educational programs, historic sites, publications, and other activities.

The NHS is committed to preserving the rich past of Nauvoo and its surrounding communities. They have worked to restore and maintain historic buildings and sites, including the historic Nauvoo Mansion, which is a two-story home built in 1848 that was the home of the first mayor of Nauvoo. The Nauvoo Historical Society also maintains the local cemetery and a museum, which houses artifacts and documents from the area’s past.

The society offers a variety of educational programs and activities throughout the year, including lectures, symposiums, field trips, and guided tours of local sites. They also host an annual Nauvoo Days festival, which includes a parade, music, and other activities.
