The Carmel Mission Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Carmel, California. Founded in 2000, the foundation works to preserve and protect the historic and cultural legacy of the Carmel Mission, the second of the Spanish missions founded in California by Father Junípero Serra in 1771. The foundation serves as a steward for the Mission’s preservation and restoration, as well as its educational and cultural programs.

The foundation works in partnership with the community to preserve and protect the cultural and historical legacy of the Mission. Through its preservation and restoration programs, the foundation has been able to restore many of the Mission’s original buildings and artifacts. The foundation is also actively involved in educational and cultural programs, offering lectures, exhibits, and educational programs for students and adults.

The foundation also works to protect the Mission’s natural environment, working to promote awareness of the need for conservation and restoration of the Mission’s surrounding landscape.
