Leith Run Campground The Leith Run Recreation Area is one of the Wayne National Forest’s most well-loved destinations. Situated on the banks of the Ohio River, it features a developed campground with electric hookups, two picnic shelters, fishing decks, and a playground. There is also a hiking trailhead on site and a boat ramp nearby.

The Marietta Natural History Society (MNHS) is a nonprofit organization located in Marietta, Ohio. The Society is dedicated to preserving the natural history of the region, educating the public on the importance of conservation and promoting the appreciation of the region’s natural beauty.

The Society was founded in 1880 and has since grown to be a key contributor in the preservation and advancement of the natural history of the region. The Society provides educational programs, field trips, seminars, and workshops throughout the year to engage and educate the public.

The Society’s collection includes over 12,000 specimens in the fields of entomology, botany, herpetology, and ornithology. The collection includes species from all over the world, some of which were collected by MNHS members. The Society also maintains a library of books and research materials, as well as a herbarium of over 2,000 pressed plants.

In addition to its educational and research activities, the Society hosts a variety of public events throughout the year, including lectures, exhibits and special events like the annual Insect Festival.

The Society’s mission is to promote the appreciation and understanding of the natural world and its conservation. Their vision is to remain a leader in the region’s natural history and a source of information and education for the public.
