The buildings are contributing structures in the Sidney Courthouse Square Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Spot Restaurant, Court Street and Ohio Avenue, Sidney, OH Built in 1941, this Art Moderne-style building was constructed to house a restaurant known as Cook’s Spot, which had operated in Sidney since 1913, the restaurant in the building is now known as The Spot Restaurant. The building features a metal panel-clad facade, cylindrical tower at the entrance, stepped parapet, large circular neon sign above the entry door, an aluminum-clad storefront at the front door, plate glass windows, a band of trim painted blue and yellow at the base of the parapet, art deco lettering, a rear concrete block wing, and metal canopies to the rear with drive-in car stands with menus, which were added in the mid-20th Century when the business became a drive-in style restaurant.
