HOWER HOUSE

Hower House is a historic mansion located in Akron, Ohio that was built in 1871 by John Henry Hower. The Hower family lived in the mansion until 1919 when it was sold to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, who used it as a meeting place. In 1970, the University of Akron purchased the mansion and began restoring it to its original grandeur. Today, the house is open to the public for tours and events.
