Fort Abraham Lincoln is a historic military post located in Mandan, North Dakota. It was originally established in 1872 as a strategic location to protect the Northern Pacific Railroad and the settlers who were traveling westward. The fort was named after President Abraham Lincoln and became a key outpost during the Indian Wars of the late 19th century.

The fort served as the headquarters for the 7th Cavalry Regiment and was the base camp for General Custer and his troops before they were sent to fight in the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876.
