The Barnes County Historical Society, located in Valley City, North Dakota, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Barnes County. The Society was founded in 1934 and has since been collecting and preserving the history of Barnes County and the surrounding area. The Society is housed in the restored Carnegie library building and houses a large collection of artifacts, manuscripts, photographs and more that tell the story of Barnes County. The Society also offers a variety of programs and activities for the public, such as lectures, tours, and special events.
