The Greater Minot Zoological Society (GMZS) is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to preserving and protecting local wildlife in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1979, the GMZS is devoted to helping local wildlife through conservation, education, and public outreach. Their mission is to promote education and awareness of wildlife, encourage conservation of habitats and species, and provide support to local wildlife rehabilitation organizations.
The GMZS is involved in numerous projects, such as the annual Wildlife Festival, which is a free educational event for kids and families. They also host a variety of events throughout the year such as the annual Wildlife Week celebration and the Wildlife Art Show.
The GMZS also provides support to local wildlife rehabilitation organizations and is involved in a number of conservation projects. They are currently working on a project to protect the endangered species of the Minot region, including the swift fox, the black-footed ferret, the bald eagle, and the whooping crane.
