The Western North Carolina Civil War Roundtable (WNC-CWR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and preservation of the history of the American Civil War. Founded in 1997, the WNC-CWR holds monthly meetings at the Western Carolina University campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Members of the WNC-CWRT strive to improve their knowledge of the American Civil War through study and discussion, and to promote the preservation of Civil War sites and artifacts. The Roundtable also works to educate the public about the history of the Civil War, through lectures, conferences, and other events.
The WNC-CWRT holds monthly meetings, usually on the third Wednesday of each month. These meetings usually consist of a guest speaker, who presents a lecture on a Civil War related topic. Following the lecture, members and guests have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions. The organization also sponsors field trips, research projects, and educational programs throughout the year.
The WNC-CWRT is open to all interested individuals, regardless of age or experience. The organization is always looking for new members, and encourages anyone who is interested in learning more about the Civil War to join. Membership in the WNC-CWRT is open to anyone interested in its mission, regardless of race, religion, gender, or nationality.
