Octagon House Restoration is a historic property located in Engelhard, North Carolina. This unique octagonal-shaped house was built in the 1850s and is considered one of the few remaining examples of octagonal architecture in the state. The house was used as a private residence until the 1980s and was then acquired by the Engelhard Historic Society in 1998.

The restoration of the Octagon House began in 2001 and was completed in 2004. The project was undertaken by a team of architects, historians, and craftsmen who worked to restore the house to its original condition. The restoration included repairing the roof, restoring the windows and doors, and updating the plumbing and electrical systems.

Today, the Octagon House is open to the public for tours and events. Visitors can explore the house's unique architecture, period furnishings, and historical artifacts. The house also serves as a community center and is used for meetings, exhibits, and educational programs.

The restoration of the Octagon House has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Preservation Award from the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office. The house is a testament to the importance of preserving our architectural heritage and serves as a valuable resource for future generations.
