The Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society (SAHPS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Santa Ana, California. The group was founded in 1988 to help preserve the city’s rich history, and has since grown to become one of the most active historical preservation organizations in the state.

The organization works to preserve and protect the built environment of Santa Ana, advocating for the conservation of historic sites and neighborhoods and the preservation of their character. SAHPS also works to promote a greater public awareness of and appreciation for Santa Ana’s rich heritage, organizing educational programs and events such as the annual Santa Ana Heritage Festival.

In addition, SAHPS works to identify, document, and nominate properties of significance to the National Register of Historic Places. The group also works to obtain public recognition of the importance of these properties, as well as to encourage their preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse.

The organization is made up of both volunteers and paid staff, and is supported by membership dues, donations, and grants. The organization is committed to providing educational and recreational opportunities for the citizens of Santa Ana, and works to ensure that future generations of Santa Ana residents will be able to enjoy the city’s rich history and cultural heritage.
