The Alabama Historical Radio Society Inc. (AHRS) is a non-profit organization located in Birmingham, Alabama, dedicated to the preservation and study of all aspects of radio broadcasting. Founded in 1964, the AHRS has grown to include hundreds of members across the world who have a shared interest in the history of radio. The organization works to promote the understanding, use, and preservation of broadcasting history through educational programs and activities.

AHRS members have access to a number of resources and activities, including a quarterly newsletter, lectures and seminars, access to the AHRS library and archives, and an online discussion group. The AHRS library and archives house an extensive collection of books, magazines, photographs, and other related materials, with a particular emphasis on historical radio broadcasting in Alabama.

The organization also hosts several annual events. The Alabama Radio Hall of Fame banquet honors individuals who have made remarkable contributions to radio broadcasting in Alabama, while the Annual Radio Reunion brings together members of the AHRS and other radio enthusiasts from around the world.

In addition to these activities, the AHRS is actively involved in the preservation and restoration of vintage radio equipment. The organization works to locate and preserve rare and historically significant pieces of radio equipment, and works with museums and other organizations to help make them available to the public for educational purposes.
