Preservation Durham is a non-profit organization that works to preserve the history, culture and architecture of Durham, North Carolina. Founded in 1980, the organization works to protect and preserve the historical and cultural resources in Durham, as well as advocate for responsible urban growth and development. Preservation Durham seeks to raise public awareness and appreciation of the city’s past, as well as foster a sense of community and pride in Durham’s heritage.
Preservation Durham offers several educational programs, such as tours of historical sites, lectures on local history, and workshops on historic preservation. The organization also sponsors several events throughout the year, including the Historic Preservation Awards and the Preservation Durham Historic Home Tour.
