The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was founded in 1965 by Frank L. Horton, who was a scholar and collector of decorative arts of the American South. The museum showcases the decorative arts and material culture of the region from the early 17th century to the mid-19th century.

MESDA is a part of the Old Salem Museums & Gardens complex, which also includes the Historic Town of Salem, the Gardens at Old Salem, and the Graylyn International Conference Center. The museum’s collection includes furniture, textiles, ceramics, silver, and other decorative arts objects that provide insights into the daily lives of early Southern Americans.
