The Historical Figures Foundation of Ventura, CA was founded in 1988 with the mission of preserving and promoting the history and heritage of Ventura County. The Foundation was established by the Ventura County Historical Society and the Ventura County Historical Museum to preserve and promote the history of Ventura County and its people. The Foundation works to create awareness and appreciation of the history and culture of Ventura County, California and its people.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting Ventura County’s past. The Foundation works to preserve historic sites, buildings, and other cultural resources throughout the county. Additionally, the Foundation offers educational programs and events to help people learn about the county’s history and the people who lived there. The organization also sponsors a number of events such as lectures, tours, and symposiums that focus on Ventura County’s history and culture.

The Foundation also makes grants to organizations and individuals seeking to preserve and interpret Ventura County’s history. It also supports organizations involved in research and other projects related to Ventura County’s past. Additionally, the Foundation works to support the preservation of the county’s historical resources.

Ventura Coast / oil rigs (# 0089) I can’t quite figure out the geography here, but this is apparently the <u><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpinteria_Offshore_Oil_Field" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Carpinteria Offshore Oil Field</a></u>, which is approximately 4 miles from land. Per the <u><a href="https://www.independent.com/2019/01/30/offshore-oil-long-goodbye/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Santa Barbara Independent</a></u>, most of the oil rigs in the area are being decommissioned.

Cleveland Sage (?), Rincon Bluffs preserve, south of Carpinteria Google Lens, usually a reliable ID source, seems to have been hijacked! I'm working on it. Could have to do the ID the old-fashioned way. Flower looks vaguely familiar. Unless a local flower-person can help?? Thanks to Alan English for a tentative ID (see note below).
