The John Burroughs Natural History Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation and nature education in Woodstock, New York. Founded in 1984, the Society works to protect the natural environment of the Catskill Mountains, as well as to promote an understanding and appreciation of the natural world. The Society's main activities include land conservation, habitat protection, and environmental education programs.

The Society is named in honor of naturalist John Burroughs, who wrote extensively about the Catskill Mountains and the surrounding area. The Society's conservation efforts focus on preserving the natural beauty of the Catskill Mountains, as well as protecting its native species of plants and animals. The Society works to protect and restore habitats, such as streams, wetlands, and forests, and to ensure that the land is a healthy and diverse ecosystem for future generations.
