Pond Spring, located in Hillsboro, Alabama, is a historic house museum that is part of the Alabama Historical Commission. The property consists of a two-story log house, a kitchen, a smokehouse, a slave cabin, and other outbuildings. The house was built in 1820 and is the home of Fielding and Martha Lewis. Fielding Lewis was a major in the Alabama Militia and a founding father of the Alabama Constitution.

The house is constructed from hewn logs with a gabled roof and two chimneys. The front porch faces south and has a large central doorway with two side doors. Inside, the house features seven rooms, including a parlor, a dining room, and a living room. The house is furnished with antiques from the Lewis family's time period and features original period wallpaper and flooring.

The kitchen is an original outbuilding constructed from logs and features a large fireplace, a wood stove, and a variety of cooking utensils. The smokehouse is also an original outbuilding and is used to store meats and other foods. The slave cabin is believed to date back to the 1820s and is one of the few remaining examples of a slave cabin in the state. The property also has a vegetable garden, a chicken coop, and a grist mill.

Pond Spring is open to the public and offers guided tours of the house and outbuildings. The museum also hosts special events throughout the year, such as reenactments, educational programs, and other activities. The property is a great way to experience the history of the state and learn more about the life of the Lewis family.

US31 South on Steamboat Bill Hudson Bridge Crossing the Tennessee River on US Route 31 into Decatur, Alabama. This truss girder bridge is known as the Bill "Steamboat" Hudson Bridge. Used a my old manual Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens with a Fotasy FD-EOSR adaptor. Probably set this in the range of f/11-13-16 because there's wide depth of field on this shot. Set the focus near infinity, crank up the ISO to 1000 on a sunny day, and it's still a winner, even for something manufactured in 1978.
