The Bergen Historical Society was established in 1967 in Bergen, New York. This non-profit organization is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of Bergen and the surrounding area. The society collects, preserves, and interprets historical documents, objects, and photographs related to the history of Bergen.

The Society holds numerous events throughout the year, including an annual spring and fall festival, a summer camp, and a Bergen History Day. The Society also sponsors a variety of educational programs and lectures, as well as tours of historic sites in the area.

The Bergen Historical Society is open to the public and visitors can experience a variety of exhibits within the museum. These exhibits include a permanent exhibit of the history of the Bergen area, a changing exhibit of local artifacts, and a variety of other temporary displays.

The Bergen Historical Society is housed in the historic Bergen Town Hall, which was built in 1887. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Society also owns and maintains several other historic buildings in the area, including the Bergen-Byron House, the VanBuren House, and the Bergen Log House.

The Bergen Historical Society is committed to preserving the history and heritage of the Bergen area. The Society works to promote a better understanding of the area’s past and to encourage the public’s appreciation for the history of Bergen.
