The Buffalo Quarters Historical Society Development Corporation (BQHSDC) is a non-profit organization based in the city of Buffalo, New York. Established in 2001, the BQHSDC is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Buffalo’s East Side neighborhood, known as the Buffalo Quarters. The organization provides public education programs, hosts events and fundraisers, and administers grants for revitalizing the area.

The BQHSDC works to preserve and promote the unique heritage and culture of Buffalo’s East Side neighborhood. The organization collects, preserves, and shares stories, photographs, and artifacts of the area’s past. This includes the history of the original Buffalo Quarters settlement, which was home to Native Americans and German immigrants in the late 1800s. The Buffalo Quarters Historic District, designated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 2001, is a focal point of the BQHSDC’s mission.

In addition to preserving and sharing the area’s history, the BQHSDC is actively involved in community service projects, such as providing assistance to local seniors, organizing community cleanups and festivals, and helping to create a safe, clean, attractive environment for residents. The organization also partners with local businesses, universities, and other community organizations to encourage economic development in the area.

The BQHSDC is committed to bringing together residents, businesses, and organizations to create a vibrant, diverse, and prosperous community in the Buffalo Quarters.
