The Bombay Historical Society in Bombay, NY was established in 1984 to preserve and promote the history of the town and the surrounding area. The Society is comprised of members from the Bombay community and the region and strives to educate the public on the town’s history and its role in the community.

The Society collects, preserves and displays artifacts related to the town and its history. These include photographs, documents, maps, and other records of local and regional history. The Society has a museum located in the town center, which houses its collections and exhibits.

The Society also hosts events related to the town’s history and culture, such as lectures, workshops, and field trips. It publishes a quarterly newsletter, Bombay Historical News, which provides information on the town’s history and upcoming events. The Society also awards scholarships to local high school seniors who demonstrate an interest in the town’s history.
