The Allegany Area Historical Association (AAHA) is a non-profit organization located in Allegany, New York. Founded in 1982, AAHA is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Allegany County and its surrounding areas. The Association offers educational programs and events, as well as community outreach and engagement.

AAHA has a strong presence in the local community, hosting events such as the annual Allegany County Fair, the Allegany County Historical Festival, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Association also collaborates with the Allegany Museum to offer educational programs and guided tours of the area’s historic sites.

AAHA works to preserve the area’s history by collecting, preserving, researching, and displaying artifacts relating to the region’s past. The Association’s collection includes photographs, documents, maps, newspapers, oral histories, and artifacts from the area’s Native American, early settler, industrial, and agricultural communities.

In addition to its educational and preservation efforts, the Association is also involved in the community’s economic development. The AAHA works to support local businesses and organizations, such as the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce and the Allegany County Tourism Council.

The Allegany Area Historical Association is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the Allegany region, and to fostering a greater appreciation and understanding of the area’s unique past. Through its educational programs, community outreach, and preservation efforts, the AAHA is an important part of the Allegany area’s cultural heritage.
