The Civil Air Patrol Historical Foundation Inc. (CAPHF) is a non-profit organization located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. The foundation was founded in 2008 and is dedicated to preserving the history of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). The CAP is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force and was established in 1941 to provide search and rescue, disaster relief, and homeland security assistance.

The CAPHF’s mission is to preserve, promote, and encourage appreciation of the history of the Civil Air Patrol. The foundation seeks to educate the public on the importance and impact of the CAP and its contributions to the nation’s security. The foundation also provides financial support to ensure the preservation of historical artifacts, documents, and stories related to the Civil Air Patrol.

The foundation hosts a variety of events, including an annual symposium, a speaker’s series, and a museum exhibit. The foundation also maintains an online store where members can purchase CAP related memorabilia. Additionally, the CAPHF provides financial support to CAP units for the development of museum displays, preservation of artifacts, and educational programs.

The CAPHF is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. The foundation is supported by donations from businesses, individuals, and organizations, as well as grants and other sources of income. The CAPHF is committed to preserving the history of the Civil Air Patrol and educating the public on its importance and impact.
