ASIAN AMERICAN WRITERS WORKSHOP

The Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW) is a not-for-profit organization that has been supporting and promoting Asian American literature in New York City since 1991. The AAWW is based in Manhattan’s Chinatown, and hosts readings and open mics, workshops, and other events in order to create a space for Asian American authors to express their creative voices. The AAWW also publishes books, including the Asian American Literary Review and the journal Kartika Review.

The AAWW focuses on the work of established and emerging Asian American authors and poets, in order to ensure that their stories are heard. Through its various programs and initiatives, it serves as a platform for Asian American writers to get their work published, build their community and network with other writers, and share their stories. It also works to foster greater understanding of Asian American culture in the larger literary community.

The AAWW also provides resources and support to Asian American writers, including writing fellowships and grants. It works to promote and preserve the work of Asian American writers, both in the US and abroad. Additionally, the AAWW publishes anthologies of Asian American literature, and hosts workshops and seminars to help Asian American writers hone their craft.

The AAWW is a vital part of the Asian American literary landscape in New York City, and provides a much-needed platform for the work of Asian American writers. Through its events, publications, and resources, it has helped to create a vibrant and diverse literary community in the city.
