The Historic Districts Council (HDC) is a non-profit organization based in New York City. It was established in 1980 to promote the preservation and enhancement of New York City's historic neighborhoods. HDC works to protect New York City's historic and cultural resources by advocating for the designation of historic districts and individual landmarks, providing technical support and resources to local communities, and educating the public on the value and importance of historic preservation.

HDC provides a range of services to local communities, from providing information and technical assistance on the landmarks and historic districting process, to holding workshops and seminars on various topics related to preservation. They also advocate for the preservation of historic districts and individual landmarks, and provide resources to local communities to help them preserve and enhance their neighborhoods.

The organization works in close partnership with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, which is responsible for the designation and protection of New York City's landmarks and historic districts. In addition to their advocacy and technical assistance work, HDC also runs educational programs and offers a range of resources and publications related to historic preservation. They also host an annual conference and other events to share best practices and provide training to professionals and the general public.

Sunrise and Morning at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal (New York City), September 15th, 2023 Our weird first day of our two week cruise to Greenland. This is the sunrise and the morning on the Jewel as we were docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal (Pier 88) in New York City. On board the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas for a grand 14 day cruise to Greenland (September 14th through 28th, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an actual stop in Manhattan (a delay leaving NYC caused by Hurricane Lee); Nuuk, Qaqortoq & Nanortalik in Greenland; St.John's, Newfoundland before heading back to New York City. Was a grand adventure!
