The Jewish Historical Society of Staten Island (JHSSI) was founded in 1992 to preserve and promote the history and culture of Jews in Staten Island, New York. The organization works to provide educational programs, research and archival services, and public events in an effort to foster public awareness of Jewish history and culture in the borough.

JHSSI’s headquarters, located in the historic St. George neighborhood of Staten Island, houses the organization’s archives, an extensive library, and a gift shop. The archives include documents and artifacts related to the history of the Jewish community on Staten Island, as well as the history of Jews in the United States. The library contains books and periodicals on a variety of topics, including Jewish history, culture, and religion. The gift shop offers books, artwork, and other items related to Jewish history and culture.

JHSSI also hosts a variety of events, such as lectures, symposiums, film screenings, and exhibits, as well as walking tours of historic sites in Staten Island. In addition, the organization works with local schools and organizations to provide educational programs on Jewish history and culture.
