The African American Art and Culture Complex (AAACC) is located in the heart of San Francisco, California. The AAACC is a multi-cultural facility dedicated to the preservation, education, and celebration of African American art and culture. It was founded in 1984 by Dr. Regina M. Davis, and is the only organization of its kind in the entire Bay Area.
The AAACC offers a variety of classes, workshops, and special events that are focused on African American culture, history, and art. These include lectures, music and dance performances, and art shows. The AAACC also has a gift shop, gallery, and research library, as well as a children's play area and café.
The AAACC's mission is to contribute to the well-being of San Francisco's African American community. To that end, the AAACC works in partnership with other organizations to provide educational opportunities, create economic opportunities, and foster cultural enrichment for African Americans in the Bay Area.
The AAACC is supported by San Francisco's Arts Commission, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts. It is also supported by private donations, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
The AAACC is an important part of the San Francisco community, and has been instrumental in helping to preserve African American culture and art in the Bay Area. Its programs and events have had a lasting impact on the lives of many San Franciscans.
