The East Hampton Historical Society was founded in 1895 and is dedicated to preserving the town’s history and culture. The society’s mission is to collect and preserve artifacts, documents, photographs and other materials that reflect the town’s history and to make them available to the public.

The East Hampton Historical Society operates four museums and historic sites in the town. These include the Thomas & Mary Nimmo Moran Studio, the Mulford Farmhouse Museum, the Home Sweet Home Museum and the Clinton Academy Museum. Additionally, the society holds an annual East Hampton History Day in June and offers various educational programs throughout the year.

The East Hampton Historical Society is located in the village of East Hampton, New York. The society's headquarters are in the Clinton Academy, a restored 1784 building that also serves as a museum. The building was originally an academy for boys in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
