Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York, is a living history museum and educational center. The house was built in 1783 as the country estate of Pieter Lefferts, a wealthy Dutch-American farmer and landowner. The house is a two story, five bay, wood frame structure with a gambrel roof, and remains largely unchanged since its original construction.
The house was originally located in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, but was moved to its present site in Prospect Park in 1918. The house is now operated as a museum by the Prospect Park Alliance, with the aim of offering interactive educational programs that explore the history of the house and its former occupants.
