The Richardson-Bates House Museum in Oswego, NY is a National Historic Landmark located on the shores of Lake Ontario. Built in 1848, the house is one of the oldest surviving examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the state. It was designed by noted architect Alexander Jackson Davis, who also designed the Smithsonian Institution building in Washington, D.C.

The house was originally built for William Richardson and his wife, Elizabeth. The Richardsons were a prominent family in Oswego and were known for their philanthropy. After their deaths, the house was passed down through the family until it was purchased by the Richardson-Bates House Museum Association in 1974. The house is now operated as a museum, offering guided tours and educational programs to the public.

The Richardson-Bates House Museum features period furnishings, artwork, and decorative objects from the Victorian era. The first floor of the house features a grand entry hall, parlor, and library, while the second floor includes the family bedrooms and a large ballroom. The museum also includes a carriage house and outbuildings, which were used to store the family's horses and carriages.
