The Couse Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Taos, New Mexico. The foundation's mission is to preserve, protect, and interpret the life and works of E.I. Couse and the Taos Society of Artists. The Couse Foundation is dedicated to the education and interpretation of Couse's life and works, as well as to the preservation and protection of the Taos Valley environment.

The foundation was established in 1987 by the late Dr. Harold and Helen Wagner and is located in the former home and studio of E.I. Couse, a noted artist who was a founding member of the Taos Society of Artists. The foundation offers a variety of educational programs, lectures, and special events, including the annual E.I. Couse Heritage Day.

The foundation also operates a museum and gallery dedicated to Couse and the Taos Society of Artists. The museum houses a permanent collection of over 1,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, prints, and photographs. In addition, the museum offers a variety of special exhibitions and traveling shows.

The Couse Foundation also supports a variety of conservation initiatives, such as the Taos Valley Land Trust, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Taos Resource Council, and the Taos Pueblo Environmental Center. The foundation is involved in a variety of activities to promote public understanding and appreciation of the Taos Valley environment and its cultural heritage.

Rio Grande Gorge Bridge At 650 feet above the river, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is the second highest bridge on the U.S. Highway System and the fifth highest bridge in the United States. The bridge is on US 64, about 12 miles west of Taos, New Mexico. When you walk across, be sure and look for the wrecked Jeep Renegade below the northeast side of the bridge. Apparently, someone did a 'Thelma and Louise' into the gorge.
