The New Mexico Natural History Institute (NMNHI) is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is an educational, research, and public service institution dedicated to the study and preservation of the natural history of New Mexico. The Institute was founded in 1994 as a non-profit organization, and is open to the public.
The NMNHI offers a variety of programs and services, including public lectures and educational programs, field trips and research projects. The Institute is also home to the New Mexico Herbarium, which houses a collection of over 20,000 plant specimens from New Mexico. The Institute also has a number of exhibits, including a large collection of fossils and artifacts from the region.
