Deer background I ran into a lot of white-tailed deer at Bosque del Apache. I liked this one with the bright yellow grass in the background, so I cropped it to 16x9 for use as a peaceful desktop background.
Socorro Moonset I saw the full moon setting when I was walking to breakfast, so I ran back to my room and grabbed my camera. I took several at different exposures; this is my favorite. Cropped to 16x9 for use as a desktop background

Surly Kestrel This American kestrel was in the next tree over from the surly red-tailed hawk; I alternated taking pictures between the two of them.
Pyrrhuloxia It looks like a mutant bully cardinal. I saw several of these at Bosque del Apache (usually near the feeders) but they were difficult to photograph because they were always up in the trees and usually mostly-concealed by dense branches.
Proud Quail The feeders at Bosque del Apache are busy places, with the least-shy quail I've ever encountered.
