The East Brunswick Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Established in 1977, the Society's mission is to collect, preserve, and share the history of East Brunswick and its citizens.
The Society is housed in the historic 1813 Van Liew-Suydam Homestead, located in East Brunswick. The Homestead includes the original house, a carriage house, and a barn, all of which are open to the public for tours. The Homestead is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places, and is a recognized historic site by the East Brunswick Township.
The Society maintains a research library and archive of East Brunswick history and genealogy. The library contains books, photographs, maps, manuscripts, artifacts, and more. The Society also offers lectures, exhibits, and other educational programs.
The Society is supported by dues from its members, donations, and grants. The Society is governed by a Board of Trustees and staffed by a small group of volunteers.
The Society is an active participant in the community and serves as a resource for local groups and organizations. Through its work, the Society seeks to preserve and celebrate the history of East Brunswick and its citizens.
