The California Living Museum (CALM) in Bakersfield, CA is a natural history museum with a mission to educate the public about the environment and the preservation of wildlife. CALM is a zoological and botanical facility, and is home to over 100 species of animals and plants, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. The outdoor exhibits at CALM allow visitors to observe and interact with native species of the Central Valley. Animals on exhibit include coyotes, bobcats, badgers, and foxes. The museum is also home to a variety of birds, including owls, hawks, and eagles. The Desert Tortoise Habitat provides a place for visitors to observe the tortoises up close.
