The New York Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society (NYSWTHS) is an organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of the New York Susquehanna & Western Railway (NYS&W). Located in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, the organization is committed to the restoration and preservation of the railroad’s past as well as its present.
The NYSWTHS began as a small group of like-minded individuals with a common interest in the history and operations of the NYS&W. Over the past few decades, the organization has grown and now boasts a membership of over 200 individuals from all over the United States and Canada.
The NYSWTHS is actively involved in the restoration, preservation and operation of the NYS&W. This includes the restoration of historic locomotives and freight cars, the maintenance of the railroad’s infrastructure, and the implementation of various education and outreach programs.
The organization also hosts an annual convention, which provides an opportunity for members to gather, share ideas and experiences, and participate in a variety of activities. Additionally, the NYSWTHS publishes a quarterly newsletter, which provides updates on the organization’s activities and articles on the history of the railroad.
The NYSWTHS is a vital part of the New York Susquehanna & Western Railway’s history and is committed to the preservation and restoration of the railroad’s past and present. The organization is dedicated to educating the public and providing a unique way to experience the history and operations of the NYS&W.
