WHITESBOG PRESERVATION TRUST

The Whitesbog Preservation Trust (WPT) is a non-profit organization located in Browns Mills, NJ. It was founded in 1983 by Barbara and Tom Jardim to preserve the historic Whitesbog Village and surrounding Pine Barrens. The village was built in the early 1900s by Joseph J. White, who was a major figure in the cranberry and blueberry industry.

The Trust works to protect the 3,600-acre Whitesbog property, which includes a variety of habitats including wetlands, bog, and upland pine forest. As part of its preservation efforts, the Trust has restored many of the historic buildings in the village, including the general store, schoolhouse, and barns. The Trust also operates a year-round education center, offering educational programs and tours to the public.

The Trust is involved in the ongoing conservation of the Pine Barrens, including efforts to protect the rare and endangered species that live in the region.
